Miller Homes regenerate a former gas meter factory in Stretford

Recently, the regeneration of Manchester has been well documented on TV and in the media. There’s been a great deal of investment that is going into the area of Greater Manchester and the benefits of this are obvious.

Award-winning housebuilder, Miller Homes is involved in the regeneration of Manchester and its surrounding areas. Novus, a development of homes in Stretford, built on the former Itron gas meter factory, is set to inject life back into the community.

Located on Talbot Road near Old Trafford, Novus offers a range of stylish and versatile, yet affordable, apartments and houses. The site has been empty since Itron closed the facility at the end of 2016, but the area is now being given a new lease of life with Miller Homes.

Ideally located between two major gateways into Manchester city centre, Novus encompasses a fantastic mix of two, three and four bedroom houses designed specifically for families, as well as one and two bedroom apartments suitable for young professionals.

With prices skyrocketing in the city centre, regeneration has turned to the outer skirts. Places such as Stretford provide great commuter links, but don’t compromise on open air and green space. Miller Homes has seen a potential in the town and the perks of living there. They join the likes of others building in the Greater Manchester area, keen to breathe a new lease of life into Greater Manchester and offer the option of stylish living for residents there.

When Miller Homes took on the Itron gas meter factory, it was derelict and dead space. Seeing the potential in both this land, and Stretford as a whole, the housebuilder got to work in creating something that will benefit the community and give people an affordable place to live that’s touching distance from the city centre.

Leanne Feeley, Sales Manager at Miller Homes North West, comments “We are proud to play our part in the regeneration of Manchester with a focus on Stretford. We see a really big potential in this area and love the sense of community. We’re glad we can turn an old run-down site into something that will really add value to the local area and create many happy homes.”

The sales centre and show home is now open by appointment only 7 days a week, 10:30am until 5:30pm. It is located on Renton Rd, Stretford, M32 0YA and you can find out more on the Miller Homes website. The public is invited to pre-book appointments online or to call 0330 162 3986 to arrange over the phone.
