A storm named as Arwen is set to hit all parts of the UK from Friday afternoon which means high winds, rain and for some areas some snow will fall.

Gusts will be around 80mph in some areas, although its not expected to be that strong here in Trafford, on Friday it will be showery and with the wind coming from the north it will get very cold and some of these showers it could snow for a time.

The strongest winds are predicted to be Friday night and intense on Saturday.

Due to the wind many trees could come down and some loose slates on houses will come down, any weak scaffolding could pose a risk, transport could also be affected.

The wind though becomes weaker during the second half of Saturday and a nice day to come for Sunday, however it will be very cold.

Transport could be affected more so at Manchester Airport or City Airport Manchester, high sided vehicles should take extra caution more so on the motorway network.
