Flixton Woman who was worried about Hereditary Heart Disease in her Family loses weight and gains a new love for life

Stephanie Bingham was what she referred to a “serial re-joiner of Slimming World and other diets for over 20 years” but found it hard to keep motivated to get to her target weight. However after finally acknowledging that there was hereditary heart disease in her family and recognising that she was feeling down and no longer wanted to socialise she decided that it was up to her to make some changes, before the situation got any worse.

Stephanie commented: “ I did not want to be in a hospital bed before I decided to make a change”

She chose to join her local Slimming World group in Flixton and committed to weighing in and staying to the group discussion every single week.

“It was important that I tackled my bad relationship with food and I would only do that by the support from like-minded people” said Stephanie.

When Stephanie lost 10% of her body weight it was then she really started to feel the difference.losing 10% of your body weight means that you are reducing your risk of heart disease, some cancers and type 2 diabetes, Stephanie found that she felt better in her clothes, her confidence grew and she was the life and soul of the party again.

She also recognised that her joint pain was getting a lot better. What she didn’t expect to gain from Slimming World is lifelong friends.

Stephanie said: “We have all had a very difficult 2 years and trying to lose weight when facing these challenges was tough, even though the eating plan itself was easy. As a group with our consultant Claire we learnt to take each day as it came and to make sure we were keeping in touch with each other outside of group through our Facebook Group.”

Now Stephanie who is over 30lbs lighter is heading into 2022 not just feeling happier and healthier but also having the confidence to train as a Slimming World Consultant at their national training academy in Derbyshire and is ready to welcome new members into her group in Davyhulme on Tuesday nights at 5:30 and 7pm.

If you are interested come down on a Tuesday 5:30-7pm at Cornerstone Methodist Church in Davyhulme. For more information call Stephanie on 07799458611
