The successful rowing club has 175 crews entered from 19 clubs around the northwest and beyond with racing throughout the day along two marked courses.

The first is a 1km straight from Timperley bridge to Walton Park for less experienced crews and the second is a 3.2km course from Seamons Road bridge to Walton Park.

The event is a time trial format with boats being started roughly every minute in three divisions from 9:30, midday and 2:30.

Graham Whistance, Chairman at Trafford Rowing Club, said “Unfortunately we have had to cancel the last two years’ events, but we are very excited to have such a bumper turnout this year. Over summer last year we had almost 500 people apply to learn to row with us and taught almost 200 people. For many of those that joined last summer, from ages 11 – 60+ this will be their first experience of racing and it will be great to see how they do.“

The would love to extend a welcome to everyone to come down to Walton Park on the day, food and drink will be available at Walton Park Scout Hut and if it inspires you to want to learn to row feel feel to add your name to our adult and junior learn to row courses that we will run again over summer at http://www.traffordrowing.club
