Eastenders actress June Brown (Dot Cotton) has died aged 95.
June spent over three decades starring in the BBC soap opera playing nasty Nick Cotton’s mother.
Her chain smoking made her voice go a bit deeper than normal did not stop her from being one of the biggest stars on Albert Square.
It seemed though some of the big names on the hit soap opera were becoming unhappy at the way things were going this included June.
BBC Eastenders said on Twitter: “We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved June Brown, OBE, MBE sadly passed away last night. There are not enough words to describe how much June was loved and adored by everyone at EastEnders, her loving warmth, wit and great humour will never be forgotten.”
June smoked throughout her thirty years on the show, it helped with her role as Dot Cotton, although many people are against smoking, it suited her image on the screen.
She also starred in many plays on stage and starred as a guest in other hit television shows in her time, she was a great actress one many people will always remember.
June died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Sunday.
