Police responded to calls from members of the public that a boy had been knocked down on Crofts Bank Road in Urmston.

The collision happened just after 3.30pm today 28 April 2022.

Police closed the road off both ways to allow them to start an investigation, Paramedics rushed to the scene shortly after and the child was taken to hospital with a suspected back injury.

According to reports the boy was moving and talking to ambulance staff who rushed him to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

As we await a response from Greater Manchester Police we do not know if the driver of the car stayed at the scene, we will update this article when more is known.

Crofts Bank Road has now reopened.
