Lidl has full approval to build its store at Altrincham Retail Park after winning an appeal.

The store will combine both Homebase and Lidl and will come with a new car park and a revised more safer entrance into the car park.

Initially Trafford Planning approved the development at a meeting, however another big named branded store objected and it went to appeal.

It seems the biggest issue with this application was the Altair site that was supposed to be built near to Altrincham Interchange, however according to the inspectorate the Altrincham Retail Park Lidl store is not big enough to cause any issues.

The Lidl store will also create 40 new jobs and give people in the area and further out another much needed discount store.

Some residents objected to the store due to the amount of HGV’s coming and going and noise issues which the applicant has tried to reassure local people that they will do all they can to make sure no one is impacted.
