A new season, a new start and a new manager with some new players you would have thought in front of 75,000 plus fans Manchester United players would have given the performance of their lives.
What the fans got was a drab performance lacking any real effort, they must have thought “Here we go again”
Fred and McTominay was given the most stick as did De Gea who was at fault for the second Brighton goal, Rashford was much the same as last season as was Fernandez who is now nothing what he was, the honeymoon period has long gone for Bruno.
The defence flopped, fans blaming Maguire for being too slow, it is unsure what has happened to Shaw who once had so much confidence he was given a high rating in every game.
United brought on the supposed ‘Unfit’ Ronaldo, a player who obviously does not want to play for the club still played better than everyone else apart from Erikson who did his best, United were 2-0 down and soon after Ronaldo came on United scored, fans thinking had Ronaldo started or brought on at half time things may have been different.
Indeed fans were thinking the manager should have brought on subs much earlier and made a mistake with Erikson playing him as a false number 9.
Hag is a great manager no question, he made some mistakes in his first game however the great man himself should be given all the time he needs to bring Manchester United to where they belong at the top of the table and winning some silverware.
He should also be backed by the owners and he is not and ultimately the Glazers are responsible and need to leave giving the keys to people that have the money and actually understand football, no matter how much the players are that are required the club needed to get the man, instead they have gone down the cheap route buying players that are not widely known apart from Erikson.
Fred and McTominay need to be sold or let them go on loan, both are not good enough for Manchester United, Maguire also needs to be removed, Rashford having another bad season would surely mean he will be put on the transfer list, in fact it might be the best thing for the player to resurrect his football career.
Ten hag as we have said must be given time, and the backing, however this game is all about results and the more the players do not perform means they have thrown him under the bus, how many more managers will resign or be sacked from Old Trafford? how many more years will it be? for us the players from previous managers that were obviously no good for the club need to be removed.
Those that have the ability to be great once more need to be given the chance, if they continue to perform badly in every game they then surely should be sold, when you wear the red shirt in front of the most loyal fans in the world you must perform to the highest standard possible anything less is not accepted at Manchester United.
