Police responded to calls about an incident that occurred in the Urmston area where a boy on an E-bike collided with an elderly woman on 14 January 2026.
North West Ambulance Service rushed to the scene to attend to the elderly woman who was seriously injured, it is currently unknown what injuries she sustained in the collision.
The woman aged 79 was taken to hospital whilst the road will have been taped off for a time to allow police investigators to do the work they need to do.
It is not known exactly what type of E-Bike the 16-year-old was riding however some of them are doctored and end up doing speeds of up to 50mph which in Throttle mode is very fast and needs superior concentration and breaks that can handle that speed, it also needs good strength on the handle bars.
The 16-year-old boy cannot be named for legal reasons was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, causing bodily harm by furious riding, possessing no insurance and licence.
He has been bailed and will appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on 3 August 2026
