Gas works to cause chaos at a Park in Sale

Planned gas works are due to take place in and around Walton Park, Sale on Monday 13 July and will last until 24 July.

Gas firm Cadent will carry out the work which will see the  car park at the back of the sports centre affected,  it is believed the Bridgewater Canal Tow Path at Walton Park might also be affected at some point.

Work has now started and car park spaces have been slightly impacted however more work will be done on more of the car park in the coming days but won’t affect the unadopted road as first thought.

If the car park is closed down for a time you will still be able to park up on the road and at the other car park near the Raglan Road Entrance although keep in mind of other road users.

Work has now been carried out on half of the Bridgewater Canal Tow Path at Walton Park, no blocks but some people are getting very concerned, one Trafford woman with her child spoke about her fears about the amount of people that use the canal tow path and the works that is going on which reduces space.

Some cyclists seen today were flying past pedestrians towards the works including the woman who was looking very concerned.
