Storm Austen will roll in on Friday for the south and south west of England bringing very windy weather and gusts of over 70mph at times along exposed parts of the south coast, with the wind come lots of rain which will be heavy for much of the day.

As that deep low system goes east and away from the UK it will then be the turn of the North to get hit by a deep low from the Atlantic that will bring gusts of wind of up to 70mph in most parts and heavy rain on Saturday that will mean some places will experience localised flooding, this is a bigger storm than Austen as it covers the entire North.

According to WX Charts the storm will hang around for several hours during the day and will move away in the early evening leaving drier conditions, Sunday will still be a windy day but dry for Manchester.

We suggest to prepare if you have to go out and about on Saturday and Sunday, bringing an umbrella will be of little use in the wind so make sure you have the right equipment on, such as a very good waterproof jacket and either hiking boots or trainers that are also waterproof and warm.

Manchester United are at home on Sunday which will be a much better day to watch the football at Old Trafford although it will still be windy so it would be best to put on a bubble jacket or something warm.
