Plenty of ‘free to view’ Rugby at Trafford MV this weekend

By Wilf Dooley

The Trafford MV 1st XV are back in League action at MacPherson Park this Saturday as they welcome Liverpool Collegiate for a 3.00pm kick off.

Both teams are tied on 17 points in ADM 2 with TMV just ahead on points scored / conceded difference. Trafford have players back from absence and will be looking to make a statement following their disappointing away defeat at Littleborough last weekend.

Conditions will be much more favourable to Trafford’s expansive style of play but defence needs to be stepped up once again to keep pressure on league leaders Littleborough and second placed Garstang.

The 2nd XV fixture vs Blackburn 3s has now been rearranged, and the teams will meet at TMV’s MacPherson Park ground – thanks to Blackburn for accommodating us.

Both teams have had a tough start to the season in NOWIRUL Rainford Electrical Services Division 3 North/Central of the ‘IMPACT’ Rugby North West League, with TMV propping up the division with 0 wins from 4 and Blackburn little better with 1 win from 4 games. Trafford MV are working hard to get players back onto the pitch and into the selection process and will be hopeful of kick-starting their season.

We are also expecting Carrington RFC to be playing Broughton RFC at MacPherson Park M33 6LR

On Sunday our Women’s XV take to the road in the Cup as they head to Yorkshire to take on Doncaster Demons with a 2pm kick off.

On the Youth Rugby front Trafford have both the Senior and Junior Colts playing at home on Sunday and support would be welcomed. The Senior U18 Colts will host Bury while the Junior U17 Colts have a local derby match with Sale FC as the opponents.

Lots of great Rugby to watch – lots of Sunshine and good weather to watch in. Bring your mates and/or the family to Trafford MV at M33 6LR and fill the touchline. There is no charge for admission and we have a great welcoming Clubhouse and Bar waiting for you.

Join us for our Club Socials – everyone welcome Members and Non members. Friday Night Curry and Halloween Quiz / Saturday Halloween Fancy Dress (optional) Party.

We would love to see new players enjoying their Rugby, at all ages, at Trafford MV RFCC – Just search for our website or find our social media updates on Facebook / Instagram and indeed in our local News4Trafford.
