Children at Bright Horizons Trafford Nursery and Preschool have been embracing the sights, sounds and colours of autumn through a range of seasonal activities designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and learning.
Throughout the month, the children have been able to enjoy opportunities to celebrate the new season, engage in hands-on experiences and develop new skills while having fun engaging in seasonal activities.
The activities form part of the nursery’s ongoing commitment to creating enriching learning experiences that encourage children to discover, explore and build confidence in a supportive environment.
Children explored the changing seasons through leaf printing activities, using natural materials to create artwork while learning about the colours and textures of autumn. They also enjoyed investigating autumn-themed sensory tuff trays filled with seasonal items, including pumpkins, helping to stimulate their senses and encourage exploration.
From developing creativity and communication skills, to fostering an appreciation for nature and the changing seasons, the experiences have provided valuable learning opportunities for children of all ages.
Ada, Nursery Manager at Bright Horizons Trafford Nursery and Preschool, said: “Autumn provides so many wonderful opportunities for children to learn through exploration, creativity and play. Our sensory tuff trays have been a fantastic way for children to engage with the season, helping them to develop their concentration and fine motor skills while having fun alongside their friends. It’s always rewarding to see the excitement and curiosity these experiences spark as children discover more about the world around them.”
Michelle Demirtas, Head of Early Childhood Education at Bright Horizons, said: “Seasonal experiences provide valuable opportunities for children to learn through hands-on exploration and discovery. Whether they’re engaging with nature, developing creative skills or working collaboratively with their peers, these moments help children build confidence, communication skills and a deeper understanding of the world around them. Activities linked to the changing seasons are a wonderful way to nurture curiosity and support children’s learning in a meaningful and engaging way.”
