Most people agree that having CCTV everywhere does help police catch the criminals and advanced cameras catch those that break the law in a vehicle on our ever clogged up roads.

There though surely must be a limit to how many cameras are in one specific area, it seems the powers that be have decided that Sale has no limits as cameras of all kinds and types go up and can be seen everywhere more so along the A56 Washway Road and Manchester Road into Altrincham.

On almost every junction comes with it a black 18 metre monopole with three cameras at the top which we are checking to see what these cameras are for since TFGM and Trafford Council cameras are also in situ, along with GMP cameras.

Other areas of Trafford have Trafford Council cameras and those from TFGM, but nothing on the scale of what Sale has and we can only think its because the A56 is the main artery in Trafford and has a dreadful record with crashes that can be slight to severe where sadly people have died.

Yesterday (28 October) another what looks like a Trafford Council camera went up on a pole at Eastway Junction, this junction has several CCTV cameras facing in every direction including TFGM cameras all the way down the A56 and another camera that faces south on the north bound side near The Avenue, we are not sure who this belongs to.

We asked a resident about what they thought about the amount of cameras in one area of Sale and the woman who did not want to be named told us “I wonder what and who they are watching” and “They have us all on camera for some reason” basically she understood why some people will question the amount of cameras and why people are concerned, there is also a privacy issue.

No matter what people may think and without any doubts the powers that be know something we don’t and they are making sure everyone is being tracked wherever they go and the more cameras go up in an area with already too many cameras seems suspicious to an untrained eye.
