A LearJet 60 (N722BD) aircraft that took off from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas heading for Bahamas crashed into a mobile home park in Florida on (1 November) killing all 9 people on board

Although a full investigation is currently taking place to figure out the exact cause of the crash we can tell you from recordings of ATC (Air Traffic Control) in Florida and the flight crew on the LearJet 60 aircraft that it was experiencing icing issues, the female pilot mentioned the rain and that she had to climb higher.

Shortly after the pilot in a concerned voice declared a May Day which tells every ATC and any aircraft around it they are in severe trouble, she then came back to ATC declaring a 7700 emergency declaring that the aircraft now at 37,000ft was descending 10,000ft per minute, ATC tried their best to help giving her all the room she needed to keep the aircraft flying.

The pilot then declared the plane is now dropping even faster (overspeed) she then said “We are going to crash into the ground” and “We are banking 70 degrees” there was a scream by the pilot.

Her last words were “We are out of time” and there was no more contact from the aircraft.

A video circulating shows the LearJet crashing into the ground at great speed and exploding on impact leaving a huge crater, reports have said in the immediate area all power was lost to residential areas and businesses after the crash.

This was a dreadful crash and it would be for the NTSB (National Transport and Safety Board) along with others who will get the flight recorders and work out bit by bit exactly how this accident happened.
