A letter circulated that a year seven pupil from Stretford High School reported sometime this week that girls from the school was approached by a man in a car.
The man said that he knew their parents and that he will give them a lift home, the school girls ran off, but also reported seeing the same man in the same car a day earlier.
Parents have been advised to tell their children to be vigilant to and from school and to report all matters when they arise to police immediately.
We have heard of many other incidents like this in Trafford in recent times, gladly no one has been harmed and all children are safe.
It is important that children should not go home alone, but in a group or with a friend, if they do not have a mobile phone, it would be a good idea to get one.
We have asked GMP for comment and awaiting a response.
