Detectives investigating the murder of a young dad in Sale Moor have made another arrest.
At around 11pm on July 20, police were called to Royton Avenue to reports that a man had been stabbed.
Officers attended and found 34-year old Mike Grimshaw with a stab wound to his neck, first aid was administered by officer at the scene before he was taken to hospital where he sadly later passed away.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Jones of GMP’s Major incident Team said: “Our investigation is continuing and we have made another arrest.
“I continue to urge anyone who either witnessed the incident itself or has information that would help us, to get in touch.”
