Bespoke volunteering and employment support for people in Trafford with mental health problems

The Support To Enhance Potential project, provides intensive and bespoke support to Trafford residents with mental health problems that wish to access volunteering opportunities or employment.

The STEP project is designed to help people to move on and overcome some of the hurdles that they may face gaining suitable placements.

Working at the individuals pace, a bespoke one to one service is provided along with skills specific workshops and peer mentoring.

Participants work through a personalised and tailored personal development plan that will help them to enhance their self-esteem and confidence, manage their health and prepare for their volunteering or employment placements.

Placement organisations will be supported to better understand mental health and its impact, and advised on how to support their own staff along with participants from the project.

The project is funded by Lloyds Bank Foundation.

If you wish to get involved or to find out more information on this exciting new project email the coordinator Tara Barker: tara@vcattrafford.org or phone 07955 858680

You need to be aged 18 or above and have been diagnosed with a mental health condition to be able to take part, and a Trafford resident to take part.
