TV presenter Keith Chegwin has died aged 60 after a long illness with a progressive lung condition.
He died at his home surrounded by his family today December 11.
Keith was born on January 17th 1957 in Liverpool, he married Maggie Philbin in 1982 but divorced in 1993, he leaves behind his wife Maria and two children, sister Janice Long and brother.
Cheggers has he was known, had an earlier film career and starred alongside Peter Sellers, he will be remembered though for all his pop shows and quizzes he presented in mostly in the 80’s and 90’s.
Multi-coloured swap shop ran from 1976-82, Cheggers plays pop from 1976 to 1986 and in the 1980’s Saturday Superstore was just three of his well-known shows he either presented or took some part in.
It is thought his lung condition was idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, although this has not been confirmed.
