We told you the facts that despite Urmston Leisure Centre getting a huge facelift, Davyhulme will be able to keep its own sports centre in the form of a sports hub.

It gets better, Manchester Giants basketball team will move into the new hub, big martial arts events will still take place, and other sports and leisure facilities will be on offer.

Trafford are to spend £45m on improving sports facilities in the borough, sadly no mention of any improvements in Partington tonight at the council meeting, when they badly need sports and entertainment infrastructure.

Manchester Giants are not moving far to their new home as they play fairly close at the Trafford sports dome, however having them in the sports hub will be exciting and closer to more of Trafford.

For the meantime, since we will be a borough dominated like never before with sports, it would be great to see those in power do more to clear up the air we breathe more so around Davyhulme and Urmston.
