We will continue to monitor conditions so everyone is safe, people with existing lung conditions will struggle if out for too long and may find they need to use inhalers more.

Ozone is not emitted directly into the air but is a chemical reaction between to oxides of nitrogen and volatile organic compounds in the presence of the sun, vehicle and industrial pollution are high on the list of Nitrogen and Volatile organic compound.

Breathing ozone can trigger a variety of health problems including chest pain, coughing, throat irritation, and congestion. It can worsen bronchitis, emphysema, and asthma. Ground-level ozone also can reduce lung function and inflame the linings of the lungs. repeated exposure may permanently scar lung tissue.
