Training hard to winning ways for Trafford MV ahead of the opening freindly game against Llandudno


Trafford MV go into an upcoming pre-season friendly against Llandudno as fit as they have ever been, with brutal training sessions at MacPherson Park, head coach Ricky Philips has these guys ready and prepared as he looks for who will be in his first team in what will be a long and tough season to come.

The Llandudno game will be on the 18th of August.

Bank Holiday weekend see’s MV welcome old rivals Oldham in the first round of the Lancashire Trophy and MV will be out to prove a point against a team that is often more suited to the heavy pitches of the traditional rugby season.

September brings the final friendly prior to the opening game in the inaugural ADM Lancashire Premier Division. Thornton Cleveleys come to Trafford renewing another old rivalry.

Following this the season begins in earnest when Aldwinians open the League season in Sale. Not a lot separated the sides last season and with preparations looking good MV will be confident that when the time comes they will be match ready and raring to go. Players have points to prove and places are up for grabs on the new coaches clean sheet.

Trafford MV are calling on the young rugby players of the borough to give rugby a try . MV is an open friendly Club looking for the best young talent that wants to prove themselves in local rugby.

MV’s good Club ethos has seen it’s players represent County sides, Premiership and Championship sides and has even produced the Head Coach at Sale Sharks, Steve Diamond. The opportunity is there for young players to excel and to make a name for themselves if they want to become stars of the future.
