A great day out for all the family awaits you at the Runway Visitor Park which os open every day from 8am until 8pm up to September then on the time changes to 8am till 5pm.
It costs £5 for a couple of hours if you come by car or free if you come by bike or by bus.
The aviation park has 2 big mounds with a safety fence where you can see both runways, their is also a section for disabled people to enjoy watching the aircraft.
Within the grounds of the park you will see many aircraft like the Nimrod and the world-famous Concorde, although you will need to book to see and jump on board them.
There is also a shop where you can buy everything about aviation from models to books, although of good quality this shop can be a tad expensive.
There is a cafe which sells many things from chips and beans or just a slice of toast, drinks are available, again though this can be costly.
With the Emirates A380 coming and going, the Virgin 747 and loads of other big aircraft, sometimes the airport caters for diverts, at Manchester there has been all types of aircraft landing for one reason or another, Cargolux came last year, British Airways A380 sometimes makes an appearance.
