50ft waves battered balconies along the sea front in Tenerife meant many people had to be evacuated for their own safety.
A huge storm system that was lingering around the Canary Islands this weekend has now passed.
People who have been evacuated are believed to have been offered alternative accommodation until the ‘all clear ‘ is called so they can return back to the hotels they were staying in, for some a permanent move is required for safety reasons.
It is not thought anyone was injured at any of the hotels, it does show you though the power of nature, waves this high could be a common sight along sea fronts as the world heats up due to all the pollution and deforestation.
The weather now has improved and sunny weather is expected today with a high of 22c with a wind speed of 14 mph.
