Thousands of runners took part in the annual 10K event that starts in Central Manchester and goes past Manchester United FC and then goes back on itself.

Earlier on a half marathon event go underway just after 9am, we spoke with one G4S steward and he told us he had been standing around since 6am.

We was positioned near to Manchester United’s ground and we saw several spectators on Sir Matt Busby way, however it was not as packed as we have seen it in recent years which was a shame since this year we had a 3 line group of singers giving everyone and the runners some quality entertainment.

Not many fancy dress runners came past for the time we was around, although we saw a horse costume, what a brave person that was since it was a fairly warm afternoon.

The winner of the womens elite race this year was Helen Obiri with a time of 31.23 second was Ruti Aga 31.44 and third was Edna Kiplagat 32.34

Elite mens race was won by Johnboy Smith in a super fast time of 22:11, many runners from Trafford ran the race for Sale Harriers and Trafford Athletic Club.
