A 21-year old man is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision in Chorlton

Did you witness a collision involving a motorcyclist and car at the junction of Barlow Moor Road and Maitland Ave in Chorlton?

At around 12.40pm on Saturday 6 July 2019, police were called to Barlow Moor Road at the point where it meets Maitland Avenue, to reports of a collision.

The collision, involving a silver BMW 320D and multi-coloured Honda CBR 600 motorcycle, happened as the BMW attempted to turn right towards Princess Road.

As a result of the impact, the motorcyclist – a 21-year-old man – was thrown from the Honda and remains in hospital with serious injuries to his head, pelvis, right leg and right wrist.

The driver of the BMW stayed at the scene and no arrests have been made.

Officers are appealing for any potential witnesses to come forward, specifically those who may have witnessed the motorcycle driving prior to the collision.
