Just after 10pm last night (October 6th) two men – armed with machetes – entered the store and threatened staff before making off.

Police have not said what was robbed although it is expected they took money and other items from the shop.

No one was injured during the robbery but staff were left understandably shaken.

Store robberies have become a big problem in Trafford only recently Sainsbury’s in Altrincham was robbed, and the Co-ops around Sale have all been robbed several times including the Northenden Road store.

On the M33 Community and Crime Facebook group people were saying that it could be the same gang that is going around doing all the shops, Louise Proud said: “This needs sorting out .. my sisters been in two robberies in 4 months.. she loves her job.. but every night you wonder if it’s going to happen! .. feel sorry for the staff tonight hope they are all ok.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 2956 of 06/10/19. Reports can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
