Christmas 2019 gets underway tonight when Urmston switches on its lights at the Barking Dog on Higher Road between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.
Next up is the Altrincham event tomorrow starting at 4.30pm at Stamford Square which will see pop singer Lemar playing and other faces from the silver screen, the Altrincham event last year did not go to plan due to incompetent and increasingly aggressive security staff, it is hoped this year Altrincham will employ staff that will be less confrontational.
Sale’s Ashton on Mersey lights are switched on which also includes market stalls, the event is always a good one with a nice stage with carol singers, the organisers put on a good show for everyone, the event is on November 23 and starts at 10 am with the lights being switched on during the afternoon.
On the 30th November Sale Square Shopping Centre switches on its lights, despite the lack of Christmas lights and a proper tree, the event is a good one and all the kids love it and is always well attended, the fun kicks off at 2.30 pm.
On the same day and for the first time we can remember Partington has a Christmas lights switch-on at the shopping centre which will include inflatables and other things for all the family, the lights will be switched on at 4.30 pm.
It’s great to see something of a Christmas event in Partington as for so long the area has had to make do with next to nothing when everywhere else was having a Christmas lights switch on and full credit goes to the organisers for getting this together.
The weather will be good for tonight according to weather forecasters although the long term it will be difficult to predict, let’s hope for good weather for every switch on and you can find out the latest weather by heading to our weather page.
