With the game kicking off at 12.30 am on Saturday MV are calling on local supporters of Women’s Rugby and indeed Rugby itself to come down and give these girls some support from the local community.

Training numbers have been good and Director of Women’s Rugby – Lizzi Cafferky together with Joint First Team Captains – Beth Land and Madie Woodworth are looking for their first squad to put a competitive game together on this initial outing.

Players have gelled well off the field and this opening friendly will see how the girls take shape on the field of play – hopefully the weather will be kind and an enjoyable game can be played and watched by all.

To provide a player pathway Trafford MV will be hosting an open to all training session between 2-3 pm for any girls aged between 12-16 years to get at least on girls team taking the field alongside the Women’s XV for next season.

So the call is out there to all local teachers/girls groups to put the invite and to get the message out there and for girls to come down to Trafford MV on 7 March 2020 for a free coaching session meeting up at 1.45 pm at M33 6LR.

Saturday will be a showcase day for Trafford MV as the Women’s game will be followed by the Men’s 1st XV playing against Oldham as well.

It is also a Sponsors day with many of the clubs loyal, local business partner sponsors attending to enjoy the clubs hospitality.

There will also be (weather permitting!) a Bouncy Castle, Cake stall and Face Painting from 12 till 4 plus raffles throughout the day. There will be food available and a lively atmosphere for the England vs Wales Six Nations game at 4.45 pm.

Trafford MV are calling on all local Rugby lovers to come along and support grassroots rugby in the community as RFU funding turns ever more towards the professional arena.

We have no admission charges and affordable prices as part of our local rugby community. The Club will open from Noon for everyone to enjoy the day.

If you need any info on playing for any of Trafford MV’s teams please message wilfdooley@virginmedia.com for details.
