Cyclists head into a mist on Bridgewater Camal in Sale

We got reports that firemen was seen on Turn Moss in Stretford, one resident asked where the mist was coming from and he could not answer the question.

The smoke was from the moors, it had been on fire for most of the day and with the wind blew it all over Trafford,

Helicopter helping to put the fires out

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service tweeted a video and information from the scene as helicopters helped get more water on the fire, residents around the mountain fires was given advisories to shut doors and windows.

Ward councillors also asked on social media about what was going on as they smelt the fire and saw the smoke, apparently the smoke from the moors came back for a second time tonight at around 8pm.

It is thought we may see more of this in the days and weeks ahead as the weather becomes even more warmer and with no rain on the horizon the moors could be on fire for sometime to come despite the best efforts of fire fighters and others.
