For one day only, Iceland Foods will be giving away free takeaway-inspired favourites on 2nd September between 12pm-6pm.
The “Iceland Food Hall Takeaway” has arrived in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, bringing together some of Iceland’s biggest restaurant-inspired brands under one roof to prove that fakeaways can rival the real deal.
Installed to celebrate Manchester being crowned the takeaway capital of the UK, with new research from Iceland Foods revealing over 1 in 5 (21%) Brits agree the city boasts the best food spots in the country, the one-day takeover will provide the ultimate fakeaway experience.
The event comes as the research reveals families of four are spending an average of £91 per takeaway, driving more households to swap costly deliveries for alternatives that come with a much lower price tag, but don’t compromise on taste.
Instead of ordering in, nearly three-quarters (74%) of Brits say they’ll be opting for fakeaways at home this autumn, with 43% stocking up more than ever before to help save money.
In response, Iceland Foods is officially declaring 1st September the start of Fakeaway Season, encouraging shoppers to enjoy their favourite takeaway alternative at home without compromising on flavour.
Taking over 125 Oldham Street, Manchester, M4 1LN in Manchester for one day only between 12-6pm, Iceland Foods is bringing together some of its biggest and most-loved brands, including Harry Ramsden’s, TGI Fridays, Toby Carvery and Dough Company, giving shoppers the chance to discover restaurant-quality favourites at a fraction of the cost.
Visitors can enjoy one free fakeaway item on the day each until stocks last.
An Iceland spokesperson said: “Takeaway costs are continuing to rise, but Brits aren’t willing to give up the foods they love. As the UK’s takeaway capital, Manchester was the perfect place to showcase the Iceland Food Hall Takeaway.
“By bringing some of the nation’s favourite restaurant brands together under one roof, we’re showing shoppers that they can enjoy the same great flavours at home, for less, without sacrificing on quality or taste.”
To meet growing demand, Iceland and The Food Warehouse are launching their Food Hall range in stores, with their biggest-ever selection of takeaway-inspired products, including popular brands TGI Fridays, Toby Carvery, Harry Ramsden’s, Las Iguanas, Dough Company and more.
